Peyman Abedi-Rad

Vice President, Finance

Peyman has a passion for business analysis, system improvement, and budget management. In the last 6 years of employment at Simon Fraser University, he increased accounts receivable collection by over 30% through business process and policy improvements, managed the accounting administration for $60M of research projects, and is now providing budgeting and forecasting for the overall university.

As an active volunteer, Peyman has also served as an Academic Business Case Competition coach, where he mentors undergraduate students on business case study analysis and presentation skills. These students are locked in a room for 3 hours with 1 laptop and no internet and are tasked to create a 20-minute presentation solution to a real-world business problem. His team won 2nd place in Finance at the 2018 JDC West competition.

Peyman recently passed the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Common Final Examination (CFE). While he loves the analysis aspect of accounting, he also has a passion for the equities market. He actively self-manages his portfolio and enjoys discussing his stock picks with others. In his free time, he enjoys playing badminton, rock climbing, mixed martial arts, and travelling. He is a big fan of Japan and visits the famous Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo every few years.
